“The Healing Nature of Sketching”
The past year has no doubt been a difficult one for a great many people, if not only by being shockingly different from our previous “normal” lives. We’ve had to figure out new ways of dealing with ever-changing and uncertain times, varying from one-another based on our character and personal experiences. For Andreas, this meant figuring out just how to find motivation and stay inspired while the future was looking bleak. Having drawn since early childhood, the documentation of his week-to-week experiences through sketching and writing quickly turned out to be one of the most effective and fulfilling ways of reacting to what was happening. This also pushed him to further explore the beautiful nature surrounding Hong Kong and to realize how much of a healing effect documenting and spending time in nature can have on both the body and the mind.
With “The Healing Nature of Sketching”, Andreas offers us a glimpse into his own, personal ways of dealing with unusual circumstances, while hoping to provide an alternative to those who are still struggling with finding it themselves.
